Whitehaus' Extended Garbage Disposal Flange is designed for kitchen sinks with thicker walls than stainless steel. For Porcelain and Fireclay Sinks, the thicker material makes it harder for the normal Garbage Disposal Flange to span. The Extended Flange is a little bit taller to fix this issue.
