	Solid wood, tight construction. Two surprises: diagram-only directions for assembly and one of the doors sticks a little because the hinges have no mechanism for adjustment. One drawer with a cabinet beneath (with two fixed shelves accessed by two doors) works well in my kitchen.

	The cabinet was o.k. but it looked darker on the web site. Almost like golden oak. To my surprise it was actually much lighter in color, which meant it didn't match my kitchen as well. Also, I found one after the fact that had a Butcher block top that would have been better than this one that you can't use as a cutting board. Otherwise, it fits all the items I had planned to put in it. The large crock pot, blender, and bread maker.

		It has a lacquered finish. It could be stained, but you would have to remove or strip the lacquered finish, which the vendor doesn't recommend.
