The "PCA" Kitchen Butcher Blocks by John Boos are no ordinary kitchen furnishing. Like all work that comes from the craftsmen at John Boos, these butcher blocks are pieces that will service your home with lasting efficiency and style. Made from solid hard maple, the top of these butcher blocks feature a Cream finish on legs, face, sides, and bottom and an oil finish on, perfect for chopping, on the top. The thick 10 inch end grain work surface is design to remain free of bacteria. The impressive butcher block tops are supported by handsome tapered legs. Optional casters are available. The feature that sets these butcher blocks apart from others, however, are the wood knife holder that come standard. These attributes provide you with a safe place to store your knives so that they are never far from reach.

| The only issue I had was with the delivery, it said the would move it two thresholds. Then when we scheduled delivery they stated they could not take it up any steps. My front door is one set of steps up with a wrap around deck, they also sent a trailer and the driver was afraid to come up the driveway. I had to ask my contractor if he would take his van to the street and help me move it into the house, which they did and I tipped them foe something your delivery company should have done.

| I received my Boos Block about 2 weeks after I order it via freight. I ended up picking it up at the freight companies local office rather than having them delivered to my residence (timing issues and looking forward to setting it up). The actual pallet was about the same size as the butcher block so it easily fit in the back of my mid-sized SUV. Please note that the block is SUPER HEAVY just over 200lbs, so unless you are Mr. Muscle Man you will need help moving it around and taking it up the stairs if you have any.
After unpacking the block we hammered in the legs (black) with a rubber mallet that seems to do the job. No other special tools are required to install the legs, they have a very tight quality fit, so they will stay on with out any concerns. The knife holder required only a couple of two supplied hex type screws that came with the block including the tool to tighten them.
The complete set-up was took less than 10 min. We applied one of the two supplied sample mineral oil packs to the block just for kicks, I have senses ordered more Boos mineral oil via Amazon to have a ready supply on hand.
Over all I am very happy with my block and is a great addition to any kitchen. |

| The casters would add 5"H; however if you ordered the block with casters, John Boos will cut the legs down so the overall height will still remain 34"H. You can request the legs to remain uncut, however the height would then become 39"H.
This 18x18 block would be delivered with UPS - typically UPS does not go inside customers homes, but they would bring it to your front door. You would just need to bring it inside, but you may need assistance lifting this package because the block is 115lbs. |

| This block is 34" H and the top is 10" H, so this would only leave 24" for leg room. Most stools are 24" and taller, therefore it would not leave enough leg room to sit at. |

| We have an outdoor kitchen undercover. Live in Illinois, would this butcher block table be able to be in the outside air for 6 months out of the year? In the winter it would be store inside in a cooking room but it would not have heat. Thanks. - Asked about product JB-PCA5-C-CR | |
| This may not be the most ideal product to be used outside. It would require being oiled at least every 2-3 weeks but could be more often depending on the humidity. It would also require care while being stored in the winter. |
