Constructed in North American Hard rock maple, The table top features an oil finish (approved by the NSF for food preparation tasks) or a varnique finish. These maple table tops are also available with a base. Made in USA. | So far so good - we bought this piece to make into a table and haven't yet put a base on it (I will try to update my review at that time, depending on how easy it was for us to do.)
It is, however, very very heavy - around 130 pounds.
But, the product itself is as we expected - beautiful and sturdy. |

| The quality of the commercial is not as good as the residential grade. The commercial grade will have more butt joints and filler, while residential grade is more finger jointed and finished looking. Commercial grade is NSF-approved and can be used for food prep in public serving kitchens. |

| It means that the bottom of the Table Top is not manufactured to be upturned and used as the top (May have marks and is not sanded or finished as the top my be) |
