| I would have given this island 5 stars except for the fact that the middle shelf was to flimsy to support anything over a few pounds. There should have been some supports and a heavier piece of wood. With that said, I emailed the company and they are sending me a fix with supports. I love the quality of the wood and the drawers. Very nice addition to my kitchen. |

| It's the right height and size for our kitchen.
Love that you can move it around but it also locks in place. Looks great unfinished like in the picture but easy to stain or paint to match kitchen.
Only little issue I had is, I that the drawers needed
adjusting . |

| I purchased this kitchen island a few months ago for our FL home and loved it so much I bought one for our NJ home. It has to be assembled. It is heavy duty and easy to roll on the wheels. I had emailed asking how much weight does it hold and the reply was 250 lbs. We had someone assemble it and he even commented how nice the wood was and heavy duty not the particle board on most kitchen islands. You won't be disappointed. |

| I would give this 5 stars had it come assembled. I am 65 and husband 67 and this is heavy. Looked on you tube for the basten screws how to and they work like they say. Pay close attention to this. The assembly was better using the iPad to follow along, bigger, more clear. I had two damaged parts that the company is replacing, no questions asked. Love the fact that I can move it out of the kitchen if need arises. All in all we are very happy with this product. |

| It is beautiful and I actually enjoyed putting it together! It's a bit challenging, but I got it done today and it is only the tiniest bit wobbly. If I'd had more confidence, I might have glued some of the connections. I wish the top drawer had a support in the center, and hope it holds up with use. |

| Very happy with my purchase, shipped quickly, arrived per shipping schedule in 3 separate boxes. The wood is high quality and looked great coming out of the box. Being so dry out here in AZ...I have needed to give it a heavy oiling once I assembled it but that is par for the course out here in Phoenix.
CON: the only con about my order is that the pan head machine screws that attach the handles to the drawers are too short. There are 4 total handles to the piece...3 of them caught the handle threads...and was so short, only took a 1/2 turn before there was no more room to tighten. The 4th handle couldn't even get a 1/2 turn as the screw didn't even reach the handle the threads so I had to make a special trip to the hardware store to get a 5/8" 8/32 screw package to complete the assembly...not a huge deal but considering the price of the piece...shouldn't happen.
Overall very happy with my purchase...thanks. |

| We love our island and use it daily...however, it took us several days to put together and when finished it was quite wobbly. I called the kind people at catskill and they sent me different set screws and so I took it all apart and redid with the new screws. It came out a little more stable, but not rock solid as I wished. It seems to be holding up very well. The wood is beautiful and we get lots of compliments on it. |

| I bought the Grand Americana Model 1426 for additional work space and storage in my kitchen. The instructions were complete and clear although the number of pieces to the kit were intimidating at first. It was definitely a help to put all the different size screws and bastions, barrel nuts and set screws in separate containers. I only made 2 mistakes in assembly |

| We got it promply. Heavier than I imagined, but moveable in three boxes. Has mostly good directions. Takes a little fussing to get the fastens screwed in just right so the joint is tight. Was difficult to hold all the parts together when assembling the back panel. The drawer hardware could be heavier duty, say to hold 50 lb or so in the drawers. I couldn't tell where to place the drawer rails on the cabinet so had to move them all when discovered the drawers were too far back. Have to have a helper. It took us 5 hours. We're older but pretty experienced. |

| I'm very happy with this Island. It's a great mix of open and closed storage and clean lines and works perfectly in my kitchen. On the down side, the assembly was more difficult than I thought it was going to be. One reviewer said it took them 90 minutes. I'm a pretty handy person and it took me nearly 3 hours. The fastening system is not as elegant as other systems I've come across and I wonder how it will hold up over time but so far so good. At the end of the assembly my hands were hurting from the effort I had to exert to get the joints tight. The directions were great though. Good diagrams, easy to understand writing and some well placed warnings about mistakes to avoid. Also, the finish is ok but I'll probably do something different. Bottom line is it's a well designed, well crafted Island with clean lines and I love it. |

| Yes, the top is food safe. Catskill suggests you use only oil base paint because its already oiled and its easier to paint. There will be some prep work; as per Catskill, just some light sanding will be required. |

| Both, pieces are constructed of solid Birch. CA-1426 (Grand Americana Kitchen Island) does has plywood shelves while, CA-1448 (Contemporary Harvest Table) does not use any plywood, it is constructed completely from hardwood. Neither, piece is constructed of veneer. |
