John Boos EZ-DO Polyurethane Gel is designed to help you Maintain and Re-Seal your Varnique finished items. Varnique provides a hard shell of protection which can be damaged by scratches, cuts, and solvents. Once the Varnique Shell is breached, your wood is extremely vulnerable so damaged areas should be re-sealed immediately. We suggest that you Purchase John Boos EZ-Do Gel so that when damage happens, you can re-seal it in minutes rather than hours or days. Keeping the wood core of your Countertops or other items safe from Moisture, Stains, and more.
The Polyurethane Gel is safe for food contact, and is designed to dry quickly and evenly. Should not be applied to Cutting Surfaces, such as Butcher's Block.

Your questions that we answered:
 | We have a 12' long butcher block countertop in the kitchen with sink in the middle. We've used Boos Block Mystery Oil and Boos Block Cream on it exclusively for 4 years. We are tired of the monthly upkeep, as it is a large countertop! So our question is, would EZ-Do work to slowly convert this to a more "varathane" finish? And if so, how long would that take?  | An oil top can be converted using the EZ-DO gel, but you will need to wait at least 3 weeks from the last oiling and wipe the countertop down with a denatured alcohol before applying the EZ-DO gel. |
