| We do recommend some kind of protective barrier between granite and the board as the granite can fluctuate in temperature and stress the block. This can cause the wood to crack and split. Also, the board should never be left flat for long periods of time on a surface that does not allow air flow to all sides as this can cause it to warp. You can use rubber matting with perforations or a mesh style material under the board, however, you do need to regularly check and maintain the block. The block must be flipped and oiled on both sides as this will help prevent cracking or warping issues. |
