The kitchen island top is constructed with full-length rails that run the entire counter top to create a clean, continuous appearance, and 1/4" radius top edges and corners to finish the look. The rich medium and chocolate browns mix with tan and cream streaks to create a beautiful display of color, while the attractive Edge Grain lines make this a stunning centerpiece in the heart of any home. The counter tops are available in 27", 30", 32", 36", 38", 42", 48" depths and in widths from 36" to 144" to fit kitchens of any size. The counter top is available in an oil finish suitable for food prep or a semi-gloss varnique finish.

		Varnique Finish is a semi-gloss finish used for aesthetic purposes or for general food prep tasks, including rolling dough, but we do not recommend cutting upon it directly since it will damage the finish. Varnique finish requires low maintenance and is easily cleaned with mild soap and warm water and will not need refinished or re-oiled. Varnique is also more resistant to water spotting and staining. If varnique surface is scratched or cut, it will need to be resealed using the EZ-DO finish. We do not recommend an overhang any larger than 12’’ without support brackets. 	My questions is: 1) When the item is oiled, does that mean top, bottom and sides are oiled? I ask because I would like to varnish the bottom only, and leave top and sides to be oiled. Thank you, Diane - Asked about product JB-WALKCT4838-O
		John Boos tops and boards are all dipped into a bath of oil, so it would be oiled on the top, bottom and all sides. We would recommend that you wait 2 weeks from the last time it was oiled before applying the varnish to the bottom.
