Description:
Add a classic butcher block to your kitchen with this beautiful Hard Rock Maple Edge Grain Countertop by John Boos. Hard Rock Maple features a creamy light or blond appearance and is one of the hardest and most durable woods available. The Edge Grain construction presents the hardest surface of the wood providing durability and longevity, while the full-length rail construction runs the entire counter top for a clean, continuous look. This countertop is 2-1/2" thick, and available in a variety of widths from and depths to fit kitchens of any size. The counter tops come in an oil finish suitable for food prep or a semi-gloss varnique finish.

| This is a very nice top but demands a premium price. Be aware these tops have much more maintenance than stone or composite surfaces so know what your are getting into before buying. I would avoid the lower priced commercial grade tops as we had two delivered that had significant issues with glue joint gaps and tearout at the piece crosscuts. Kitchensource.com went above and beyond to make our situation right. 4 stars for the John Boos product, but 5 stars for Kitchensource.com! |

| I purchased the 72x42 size and would like to start by saying it's crazy heavy. You'll have to pay extra for delivery via a truck with a lift gate, which is necessary unless you are delivering to a business with fork lift. I'm a strong gal and could not lift this with my husband. It's probably around 400lbs. That being said, it should last for forever. It is nice and thick which means any dings or damage we do to it can be sanded out no sweat. On delivery, I did notice one or two minor dents, which I will sand out before I oil it for use. We had it put on our new kitchen island with the help of a few guys to gently get it up onto the cabinets. It's a lovely piece and I expect it to really last. It was packaged really well and was delivered in the time frame listed on the website. Kitchensource was good about working with me on the additional cost for the lift gate and I would recommend kitchen source.com and this item if you are in the market for it. Kitchensource had the best price I could find anywhere online and overall I'm a happy customer. |

| We really enjoy our new top and are extremely satisfied with delivery. We purchased the oil finish and were a little dissapointed in the quality of the finish sanding. We sanded the top with 220 and followed up with 330 and it resulted in a much smoother finish. We simply reoiled and all is good. |
