| Hi,
We are remodeling our kitchen and ordered a Bosch gas cook top and there's no exhaust fan. The existing cook top is on the island and has a downdraft vent. Previous owner thinks there's a build in exhaust fan on the cook top because all there is is a duct coming out of the cook top unit and going down into floor.
Can you please explain if we need the downdraft system with interior blower or exterior? I don't know where the existing ducting is going.
Frustrating!!! Please help!!

| | It sounds like you may have a down draft fan. If you do it would look similar to these downdraft range hoods: Click here . If what you have is a down draft, it would be behind the stove and if you review the installation instructions on our pages, you will see that the ducting connects to the bottom of the downdraft hood, ducts down into a basement and out through an exterior wall. You can replace that with another down draft or, if you can duct up, go with an island mount hood instead which would mount above the cooktop.

| How does one clean this system? - Asked about product BR-RMDD4804 |
| | To Clean, use a mild detergent suitable for painted surfaces. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLOTH, STEEL WOOL PADS, OR SCOURING POWDERS. Vacuum blower to clean. Do not immerse blower in water. Wash the 2 aluminum/stainless steel grease filters in a mild detergent solution or a dishwasher. Remove them from the air vent by grasping the tab at the top of each filter.
